Buck 63 Buck 63 -- July 2
Traditional Irish/Celtic minstrels who were born and raised in Southern Oregon, Buck 63 (Heather & Matt Murphy) are dedicated to sharing the humor and spirit of traditional Celtic music, with an emphasis on interactivity. So get ready to join it! Audience participation is a huge part of every performance. Sing-a-longs, clapping and stories from their travels together with jokes and historical side notes adding to the intrigue.
Qi Brothers Qi Brothers -- July 9 & 16
The Qi Brothers, Cliff Simonsen and Mike Fansler, bring a blend of old rock and roll and standards from the 40's through the 90's with touches of jazz, blues, and a tinge of salsa finding their way into the spaces between Cliff's guitar and Mike's conga drums. Their voices blend it all together. A great "pairing" for your evening wine at the Cellars - their vision is to provide a quality listening experience, but if spontaneous dancing breaks out it places them squarely at the top of their game.
Matt Fawcett -- July 23
Each instrument has its own character, its own terrain. The steel guitar is clear, lonesome powerful and insistent; the Dobro is sweet and plaintive; the 12-string is like 2 instruments, rather like managing 2 horses or kids at once; the 6-string simple and direct; the Gibson arch top dark and masculine; the mandolin light and youthful. Each instrument evokes a different kind of music, different lyrics and structures.”
Daniel Sperry and Charles Guy -- July 30
Daniel is an amazing cellist who plays venues throughout the Valley, and when the weather is good can sometimes be heard in Lithia Park. Charles Guy is a guitarist, and while these instruments generally don't accompany one another, don't miss this opportunity to hear what musical hybridization can create. You will be amazed by the soulful music and technical virtuosity of these two, very gifted musicians.
